Imagine a day filled skiing champagne powder with Olympic Gold Medalist Ashleigh McIvor, listening to frontman Neil Osborne of 54/40, belt out classic songs such as, “I Go Blind” and “Ocean Pearl”, and indulging in the best food Canada has to offer prepared by Canadian Culinary Champion, Jinhee Lee and eleven of Canada’s top chefs from across the country! You don’t have to imagine it, you can just do it with three of your favourite people!
You and three guests will be treated to an amazing ski and culinary week! You will begin your adventure one hour outside Kelowna at Big White Ski Resort, a multi-award-winning resort that offers some of the best skiing in the world. Boasting Canada’s largest ski-in, ski-out resort, Big White is famous for mounds of fluffy dry powder, called “champagne powder”, and has repeatedly been rated “Best Powder” by Ski Canada magazine and “Best Terrain in the Pacifica Northwest” at OntheSnow.com’s Visitor’s Choice Awards. The week will begin with a welcome reception at the fabulous Big White Ski Resort where you will get to meet the rest of the guests from across Canada and GMP celebrities, Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion skier Ashleigh McIvor, who was the first to win gold in the Olympic debut of women’s ski-cross at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games, Canadian rock legend and singer-songwriter Neil Osborne of 54/40 and Canadian Culinary Champion Jinhee Lee of Foreign Concept in Calgary! You will enjoy three nights at Big White Ski Resort, where you will stay in an executive two bedroom condominium and receive four threeday ski passes for you and your guests. You will hit the slopes at Big White and enjoy some of the best skiing conditions in the world and even get a run or two in with Ashleigh McIvor! You can also play in the fourth annual Gold Medal Plates shinny hockey game right in the middle of the Big White ski resort! You can join the team or cheer your favourite team on! On January 31, you will be treated to an amazing four course culinary experience called “The Last Supper”, as Chef Jinhee Lee prepares her last dinner as reigning Canadian Culinary Champion in the spectacular White Spirit Lodge, considered to be one of the most luxurious log homes in the world! This is always one of the highlights of the week!
Following your three days of skiing, you and your guests will be transported to Kelowna, where you will spend two nights at the newly renovated, spectacular Delta Grand Okanagan Hotel and Resort and will receive ringside VIP passes to the 2017 Canadian Culinary Championships. You will attend the Mystery Wine Pairing, Black Box and Grand Finale competitions, and watch the eleven gold-medal-winning chefs from across Canada compete in three thrilling and grueling challenges. At the Grand Finale you will witness the crowning of Canada’s best chef for 2018 and musical entertainment by some of Canada’s finest musicians, including Neil Osborne!
The perfect mix of food and fresh air! Big White is gorgeous and skiing with the Olympian was such a rush. The Culinary Championships was a blast and I am still dreaming about all the food and wine.

COMPETITION I: MYSTERY WINE PAIRING – FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2 AT THE DELTA GRAND OKANAGAN HOTEL
Chefs will be presented with a mystery bottle of wine on Thursday night and are then required to prepare a dish with local ingredients that best complements the mystery wine, in a set amount of time and with a set budget. During the event you will taste the mystery wine and play ‘judge’ as you vote on the “People’s Choice Award” for the best wine and food pairing. Food and wine included.
COMPETITION II: BLACK BOX – SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 3 AT OKANAGAN COLLEGE
Chefs receive only 10 minutes notice and a black box containing an array of diverse foods before having to produce and plate one spectacular dish for the national judges. All in one very short hour! You won’t get much closer to watching an Iron Chef competition than this – you will be a spectator in the kitchen! There will be food
featured by the Okanagan College Culinary students and a mini market featuring local artisans.
COMPETITION III: THE GRAND FINALE – SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 3 AT THE DELTA GRAND OKANAGAN HOTEL
Your VIP tickets include access to the VIP reception where Canadian Culinary Champion, Jinhee Lee, will prepare spectacular hors d’oeuvres and wonderful regional wines will be served. On the final night of competition, anything goes. Chefs create their best dish for guests to sample, paired with a great wine from their regional winery partner. By evening’s end, Canada’s Champion Chef for 2018 will be crowned and a victory celebration will be staged including entertainment by some of Canada’s finest musical guests including Neil Osborne of 54/40. Food and wine included.
