You and three guests will be treated to an amazing ski and culinary week! You will begin your adventure one hour outside Kelowna, at Big White Ski Resort, a multi-award-winning resort that offers some of the best skiing in the world. Boasting Canada’s largest ski-in, ski-out resort, Big White is famous for mounds of fluffy dry powder, called “champagne powder” and has repeatedly been rated “Best Powder” by Ski Canada magazine and “Best Terrain in the Pacifica Northwest” at’s Visitor’s Choice Awards. In addition to the best downhill skiing and snowboarding, Big White also offers some of the best tree skiing, warm après skiing, snowshoeing, tubing, skating, snowmobiling, dogsledding and Nordic skiing so there is something for everyone!

The week will begin with a welcome reception at the fabulous Big White Ski Resort where you will get to meet the rest of the guests from across Canada and GMP celebrities, two-time Canadian Culinary Champion Marc Lepine of Atelier in Ottawa, Olympian in downhill and Super-G and Canadian Ski Hall of Fame inductee Brian Stemmle and an entertainer TBC. You will enjoy three nights at Big White Ski Resort, where you will stay in an executive two bedroom condominium and receive four three-day ski passes for you and your guests. You will hit the slopes at Big White and enjoy some of the best skiing conditions in the world and even get a run or two in with Brian Stemmle who was with the Canada Alpine Ski Team for 14 years! You will also get a chance to play in the third annual Gold Medal Plates shinny hockey game right in the middle of the Big White ski resort! You can join the team or cheer your favourite team on! Does it get any more Canadian than this?!

On February 1st, you will be treated to an amazing four-course culinary experience called “The Last Supper” as Chef-Champion Marc Lepine prepares his last dinner as reigning Canadian Culinary Champion in the spectacular White Spirit Lodge, considered one of the most luxurious log homes in the world! This is always one of the highlights of the week!

Following your three days of skiing, you and your guests will be transferred to Kelowna, where you will spend two nights at the newly renovated, spectacular Delta Grand Okanagan Hotel and Resort and will receive ringside VIP passes to the 2017 Canadian Culinary Championships. You will attend the Mystery Wine Pairing, Black Box, and Grand Finale competitions, and watch the eleven gold-medal-winning chefs from across Canada compete in three thrilling and grueling challenges. At the Grand Finale you will witness the crowning of Canada’s best chef for 2017 and musical entertainment by some of Canada’s finest musicians! All ground transportation from Kelowna Airport to Big White Resort and from Big White Resort to the Delta Grand Okanagan Hotel is provided.

Your six-day, five-night Big White Culinary Adventure for four includes:

  • Three nights’ accommodation in a deluxe two bedroom condominium with ski in/out access at either Stonebridge Lodge or Sundance Resort at the multi-award-winning, Big White Ski Resort on January 31, February 1 and 2, 2017

Mystery Wine Pairing Competition on Friday, February 3 at the Delta Grand Okanagan Hotel

Chefs will be presented with a mystery bottle of wine on Thursday night and are then required to prepare a dish with local ingredients that best complements the mystery wine, in a set amount of time and with a set budget. During the event you will taste the mystery wine and play ‘judge’ as you vote on the “People’s Choice Award” for the best wine and food pairing. Food and wine included.

Black Box Competition on Saturday, February 4 at Okanagan College

Chefs receive only 10 minutes notice and a black box containing an array of diverse foods before having to produce and plate one spectacular dish for the national judges. All in one very short hour! You won’t get much closer to watching an Iron Chef competition than this – you will be a spectator in the kitchen! There will be food featured by the Okanagan College Culinary students and a mini market featuring local artisans.

The Grand Finale Competition on Saturday, February 4 at Delta Grand Okanagan Hotel

Your VIP tickets include access to the VIP reception where Marc Lepine, 2016 Canadian Culinary Champion and Executive Chef at Atelier in Ottawa, will prepare spectacular hors d’oeuvres and wonderful regional wines will be served. On the final night of competition, anything goes. Chefs create their best dish for guests to sample, paired with a great wine from their regional winery partner. By evening’s end, Canada’s Champion Chef for 2017 will be crowned and a victory celebration will be staged including entertainment by some of Canada’s finest musical guests. Food and wine included.

Items deemed priceless (value cannot be determined because of individuals considered celebrities) are not eligible for tax receipts.
